Strategic Planning

One of the most important challenges for any organisation is to have a clear sense of purpose, around which priorities and activities can be coherently structured.

This is a particular challenge for those new institutions created out of government reform and restructuring programmes.  It is equally necessary for NGOs, for Foundations and companies, and for existing government agencies.

As part of its support to institutional reform programmes in the natural resource sector, EDG has guided processes that have developed multi-year strategic plans in Botswana, Cameroon, Congo (Democratic Republic), Gabon, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia; we have also been deeply involved in implementing new approaches to strategic planning for a number of NGOs, notably the Wildlife Conservation Society.
