Evaluation

Donors – whether their funds are from public or private sources – are increasingly being held to account for their effective management of development funds.  Money devoted to achieving environmental or development goals must be seen to be money well spent, and to have achieved tangible benefits.

External, objective monitoring and evaluation of projects is essential both to ensure the continued relevance of activities and to guide the design of future activities.

EDG has long experience of conducting such evaluations on behalf of both multilateral and bilateral aid funders and NGOs throughout the world.  Our core staff and consultants are familiar with the project evaluation methodologies of major donors including the European Union and World Bank.

They also bring the discipline of such methodologies to bear when helping NGOs and private trust funds take stock of their project portfolios or re-focus their activities towards achieving improved results.
