Conservation

The international community and national governments are increasingly using the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), Millenium Development Goal 7 and other international agreements as frameworks within which to coordinate efforts towards the sustainable management of biodiversity.

Opportunities for increased investment and involvement exist for both the private sector and local communities. Substantial benefits should also emerge from rationalising the interface between biodiversity and other natural resource sectors such as agriculture, fisheries and forestry.

The Environment and Development Group works to unlock these opportunities through effective strategies that result in economically and environmentally sustainable solutions at local, national and international levels.

We do this for development agencies, international conservation NGOs and for environmentally responsible companies.
