Cameroon — Design and Establishment of The Foundation for Environment and Development in Cameroon (FEDEC), (ExxonMobil; 1999-2003)

As part of the Environmental Management Plan associated with the construction of an oil pipeline from Doba in Tchad, to Kribi, on the Atlantic coast of Cameroon, The Environment and Development Group was commissioned to design and establish a social and environmental Foundation.

The purposes of this Foundaiton are to support the development and management of two newly-created forested National Parks (Mbam-Djerem and Campo-Ma’an), and to support social development activities for Bakola-Bagyeli pygmy communities.

EDG drew up the legal and administrative documents that brought the Foundation into being; helped to select and train both the Board and later, the Administrative staff; and advised on the selection of an Investment Bank to manage the Foundation’s assets.
