About Us

Founded in 1990 as part of Oxford University, The Environment and Development Group (EDG) is now a private sector company that provides advice and project management services to help link people to the natural environment on which they depend.

EDG aims to place the sustainable management of the natural environment at the heart of development policy and practice. We work with donors, governments, businesses, NGOs and communities to safeguard our planet?s natural wealth, and to identify economically, socially and environmentally sustainable routes to prosperity.

From our offices in Oxford, our small core team of specialists is available to manage projects throughout the world.  We also regularly conduct desk-based studies and short-term project design and evaluation assignments overseas.  We have long term staff located in project areas, and work regularly with a select group of senior associates, associate companies and advisors, all experts in their fields.
